Working with textiles, fiber, invasive vines and natural dyes, Donna La Pré conjures and suggests the delicate world of plants, including the unseen ground from which they originate.
This year, she presents “A Flower Story” in her airy, open studio. Large and small floating wall panels express flowers, weeds and grasses in fields of light. Ethereal botanical sculptures and woven vine pieces add layers of the plant world experience and a botanical perfume “scent station” offers an olfactory dimension of the least material aspect of plant life, its volatile oils activity. Naturally dyed scarves, shawls and throws, of wool, silk and linen.
