Recently on exhibit at Studio Gallery in Dupont Circle, the show "Geometry," featured sculpture and abstract paintings from Fall Art Tour artist Hans Gerhard and photography from Middle Street Gallery artist Susan Raines. The exhibition ended April 19, but we just love these images of their work in the gallery. See both of them on this year's Fall Art Tour! Hans is a studio artist, and Susan's work is featured at Middle Street Gallery!

Stunning abstract work from Rappahannock County ar

Stunning abstract work from Rappahannock County artist Carolyn Roth, who says "Briefly a resident of the county in the early 70’s, the mountains have called me back. I returned to live in Rappahannock in 2015. My studio allows me to continue the pleasure of throwing paint while simultaneously breathing in the mountains. I work in oil, acrylic, fabric or mixed media as the inspiration requires. Currently I am working with oil pigment and cold wax. There is a lusciousness to this that reminds me of making mud pies as a child. My work is in many private collections and has been exhibited in many galleries and shows in the DC area. Living in Rappahannock County has given me space, freedom, nurturance, and quiet as bedrock for creating. The mystery of creating defies words. My hope is that my work evokes a response from the viewer."

This year marks our 20th annual tour, on November 1-2, 2025, and we're thrilled to have so many talented artists on this year's Tour. An easy drive from Washington, DC, Fairfax and Richmond, VA and other Metro Area cities, this event is the perfect day or weekend trip. Won't you join us?

A sweet and evocative piece from Rappahannock Coun

A sweet and evocative piece from Rappahannock County artist Cheryl Reisler, who describes her work, "My sculptures reflect my personal journey. In practice, I often step back and reflect on its shape, color, and texture connecting me with a thought, emotion, a place or person. I use both traditional and found materials that enhance the visual effect of the work. Many of the found objects are from jewelry boxes, junk drawers, and forgotten bobbles that I have rediscovered with a childlike enthusiasm. My figurative work is three dimensional, tactile and meant to be viewed and touched from different angles and perspectives. The composition of color, shape and texture excites and inspires me."
