Jackie Bailey Labovitz
A native of rural Virginia, Jackie Bailey Labovitz brings a variety of flora and fauna to life through her superb photography. Over the years, she’s spent countless hours waiting for the exact moment to make the perfect portrait of her subjects in low, natural light. Her critically acclaimed “Understory” portfolio documents native plants mentioned by Thomas Jefferson, father of American botany, in his correspondence. Find out more about these plants in UNDERstory. Jackie’s photographic technique provides a richness in detail, light, and color that gives these photographs the feel of oil paintings. See a video about her process here. Her work resides in numerous public collections. An independent art curator, she has created collections the world over.
